The holiday season is upon us once again! Amazing, isn’t it? I’m convinced that if we could slow down our lives then time wouldn’t seem to move so fast. The only problem is that I haven’t had enough time to put this theory to the test! Now, as we gear up for shopping, visitors, parties, maybe extra stress at work, and whatever else you’re personally dealing with, the pressures on our time just increase. I don’t know about all of you but I am a grateful and dedicated online shopper. It makes it easy and there’s no need for so much driving around and dealing with crowded stores. I also get asked a lot about the products I use in my office and so I figured this would be an excellent time to share all of that information with anyone who was strapped for holiday gift ideas. So here are some of my favorite things:
Natural Mystic Soap
The most delicious soap in the world. It’s a small company run by a great woman from St. Petersburg. I first found them because they sell it at the yoga studio a friend of mine works in and the smells just captured me. They leave your skin feeling clean without residue but the scents stay. They are 100% all natural and safe and worth every single penny.
Young Living Essential Oils
I use a lot of aromatherapy and I’ve tried a lot of different companies. Young Living has the highest quality oils I’ve come across and the number of different single oils or blended combinations is impressive. They have one blend called Abundance that contains myrrh, frankincense, clove, orange, patchouli, and spruce and it just smells like Christmas to me.
This company’s tag line is “audio, video, music for the inner life.” I’ve gotten a lot of my music from them and I always go back for more. They also carry a huge selection of books and teachings from every spiritual discipline out there. If someone you know is interested in these sorts of explorations Sounds True is an immensely valuable resource.
Inner Peace Music
This is the website of one musician, Steven Halpern. His focus for years has been music
that soothes and relaxes and promotes healing. Everything he makes is absolutely
Ye Notorious Krewe Of the Peg-Leg Pirate
One of the questions I get during this time of year that most vexes me is “what do you want?” There is so little I actually need or want in terms of more “things” and so finally, for those of us who don’t really want any more stuff, I offer you this: an active and local “pirate krewe.” This group is a non-profit organization whose main focus is assisting amputees and their families. They’ve managed in the short time they’ve existed to buy several custom bicycles for kids who were born missing limbs or lost them in accidents. That kind of giving is what taking care of your fellow man is all about.
